Mantis is a mutated Earthling and Kree-trained warrior who was raised from childhood by the pacifist Priests of Pama to fulfill the prophesied role of the Celestial Madonna, a prophesied being destined to give birth to a universal saviour. In an alternate universe mantis during her mutation mantis developed her antennaz and abilities but also increased in weight due to the size she needed to be to hold her abilities she grew to a sheer 750 lbs and has telepathy to human life (to help her get food)
