Beastbox

the Transformers franchise, Beastbox primarily refers to a robotic gorilla character that transforms into a microcassette and serves as a minion to the Decepticon Soundwave. The name can also refer to other characters or a distinct line of transforming toys: 1. Generation 1 (G1) Decepticon Beastbox • Alt Mode: A purple microcassette that fits inside Soundwave's chest, transforming into a robotic gorilla. • Function: Interrogator, though his extreme impatience and violent rages usually lead him to beat captives instead of gathering information. • Abilities: Can record up to 6,000 hours of audio and is equipped with two compression cannons. • Combiner: He combines with his partner, the bird-like Squawktalk, to form the larger robot Squawkbox (forming the upper body). • Details on TF Wiki: Learn more on the Beastbox (G1) Transformers Wiki. 2. Live-Action Movie Continuity (Revenge of the Fallen) • Alt Mode: A mechanical ape/gorilla. • Role: A member of the crew of the Nemesis dispatched by Soundwave to hunt Autobots and humans on Earth; he is ultimately destroyed during a battle in Namibia. • Details on Fandom: Read the profile on the Beastbox Movie Wiki. 3. Robots in Disguise (RID) Mini-Con Beastbox • Alt Mode: Transforms from a robotic gorilla into a Cybertronian buzzsaw that ricochets across the battlefield. • Role: A mercenary Mini-Con who fights in exchange for Energon bananas. 4. 52TOYS "BeastBOX" Toy Line (Often Confused) • Distinction: "BeastBOX" is also a popular original line of transforming robotic and animal-shaped figures by 52TOYS that fold up into compact cubes (such as BB-75 Godspeed or Sacredpower Robo). While they share a similar transforming-beast concept, they are an independent toy brand rather than official characters from Hasbro or TakaraTomy's Transformers canon.
