You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: #111 BAAACULA Type: Beast / Mystic Habitat: Eldertown Porches Size: 1.2–1.4 feet (Height) Rarity: Rare APPEARANCE: A round, chibi-style black lamb with thick, popcorn-like curls of midnight wool. It features two tiny, sharp white fangs and massive, expressive red-amber eyes. A bright white heart-shaped patch is centered perfectly on its chest. BEHAVIOR: Strictly nocturnal and light-sensitive. It spends daylight hours lethargically tucked away in dark crawlspaces, only becoming active and playful once the sun has fully set. ABILITY: Shadow Sleeper. Baaacula can partially phase into the ethereal plane when in total darkness, allowing it to move through physical objects like floorboards or locked doors as if they were smoke. HABITAT & DIET: Primarily found nesting under the raised porches of Eldertown. It sustains itself on ambient mystical energy and "draining" the sweetness from fruits, leaving them bland but intact. LORE: Considered a lucky "house-spirit" by locals. A Baaacula under the porch is said to absorb bad dreams and domestic tension, purifying the home's energy while it sleeps. You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: #110 INKWHISKER Type: Beast / Mystic Habitat: Artisan Workshops & Creative Studios Size: 0.8–1.0 feet (Height) Rarity: Rare APPEARANCE: An impossibly soft, white cat-like creature with a spiraling chameleon tail that stays tightly curled when at rest. Its most mesmerizing feature is its large, kaleidoscopic eyes, which swirl with luminous shades of violet, gold, and turquoise like shifting galaxies. Its fur is a "living canvas," naturally adorned with vibrant, painterly splashes of pastel pink, blue, and yellow that seem to glow with their own soft light. BEHAVIOR: Inkwhiskers are attracted to the "creative hum" of humans. They are silent observers, often perching on easels or brush-handles to watch a creator at work. They do not seek traditional food, instead appearing to grow more vibrant and energetic when in the presence of intense focus and inspiration. ABILITY: Masterpiece Mimic. Inkwhisker can absorb the color palette of any art piece it is near. By uncurling its spiral tail and touching a surface, it can "project" those colors, helping an artist visualize the next stroke or temporarily hiding itself against a canvas with perfect camouflage. HABITAT & DIET: They are found exclusively in human settlements that value the arts. Currently, only one Inkwhisker resides in Eldertown, moving gracefully between the village's workshops. It "feeds" on the ambient mana generated during the act of creation. LORE: Eldertown artisans consider it the highest honor to have an Inkwhisker visit. You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: #107 VINESWINE Type: Plant / Beast Habitat: Farm Orchards & Eldergrove Edges Size: 1.1–1.3 feet (Height) Rarity: Uncommon APPEARANCE: A cheerful piglet with smooth, moss-green skin. Its body is naturally entwined with living grapevines that grow directly from its hide, bearing lush green leaves and clusters of incredibly sweet purple and green grapes. It has bright green eyes and a curly vine for a tail. BEHAVIOR: Exceptionally curious and social, Vineswines are the most adventurous of the elemental piglets. They are known "escape artists," frequently slipping through fences to forage for rare herbs and play with wild Isimon at the edge of the Eldergrove. ABILITY: Sweet Harvest. Vineswine can accelerate the growth of its grapes, offering them to others. These grapes have magical restorative properties, healing minor ailments and immediately fostering a bond of friendship with those who eat them. HABITAT & DIET: While based at the elemental pig farm near Sage's land, they spend much of their time in sun-dappled glades. Their diet is diverse, consisting of standard farm feed supplemented by high-mana herbs found deep in the forest. LORE: Legend says the first Vineswine was a regular piglet that fell asleep in a basket of enchanted grapes. Now, they are seen as guardians of the forest's bounty, ensuring that travelers who respect the Grove never go hungry. TEMPERAMENT: Joyful, generous, and bold. They are not easily startled and will often approach humans with a wagging vine-tail, offering a cluster of fruit as a greeting. ACTIVITY: Diurnal (Most active while the sun is high and the forest herbs are most fragrant).
