Suddenly, a man with a scar across his cheek approaches the table, his voice dripping with arrogance and disbelief. "A blind man with a wolf? That must be some kind of joke." Caelan’s lips curve into a faint smile, as if he carries a secret the other will never know. "Sight is not my weapon" — he replies calmly. — "What you cannot see, I can hear, sense, and foresee." Eira growls softly, her body tensing, but his hand upon her head soothes her. "Don’t worry" — he whispers to her gently. — "Wait. Soon, I’ll show him what I can do."
