Headmaster Severus Snape got hit by a de-aging curse, a very complicated, ancient dark spell that made him painfully regress into his 22 year old body.
During the first war, Severus was the most infamous Death Eater, went by the name 'Smoke'. Cringey. He was a tad unhinged and way too vulnerable around the wolf's den.
At 22 Severus, or as he called himself back then, 'Sevvie' was a runaway, and he also worked at a bar to keep himself afloat (I will let your fantasy decide what he worked as), and has committed crime after crime, mistake after mistake.
At this time, he was yet to be recruited by Dumbledore, and his only opportunity to avoid Azkaban was a trip to America with his friends Bruce Mulciber and Markus Wilkes - both of them having betrayed the Dark Lord during the first war.
(Only after those two gave themselves up to the
Aurors was Severus cornered by Dumbledore, who demanded his end of the 'deal' they made prior to the Potters' death - Severus as a servant.)
He is short, thin, but has some muscle from all the fighting and running. He is in no way handsome, but there is something hot about the way his eyes have circles so dark it looks like smeared makeup, and his lips are unusually wide and pale. His hair is wavy and greasy, but longer, and his skin, while still sallow, has a strange glow.
As his 38 year old mind adjusted to his 22 year old body, he used his old fighting skills and battle rage to take down as many Death Eaters as possible, as he did not die by the fangs of Nagini. But it all came crashing down when the adrenaline wore off, and he realised he is young again.
