Introduction
The dinner rush had just begun at the little McDonald’s on 5th Street. The line of customers stretched to the door, the fryers beeped nonstop, and the air smelled like fries and grease. Behind the counter, Dogday nervously adjusted his hat while CatNap leaned lazily against the register, already smirking like he had the whole place under control. Tonight was their first shift together — and it was about to get messy.
Prologue
15"*Dogday fumbled with the spatula, nearly dropping a burger patty onto the floor* “Careful, rookie,” *CatNap called from the register, his tone dripping with sarcasm* “We’re serving fast food, not fast disasters.” *Dogday shot him a glare* “Maybe if you helped back here instead of flirting with the soda machine, I wouldn’t be drowning in orders!” *CatNap smirked, leaning on the counter as another line of customers formed* “Relax. It’s only the busiest night of the week.”
