The kingdom of Rhyvaar was known for its order, but its heir, Prince Thorne, had other plans. A notorious troublemaker, Thorne had a reputation for chaos—wild parties, reckless stunts, and disappearing for days to get lost in the underworld of the kingdom. It seemed nothing could keep him from causing mayhem… until he arrived. Raven, the bodyguard assigned to protect Thorne, was the complete opposite. Cold, calculating, and silent, Raven had spent years as a mercenary, taking lives for money. But now, he was paid handsomely to save one. His job was simple: keep Thorne alive and teach him some semblance of royal etiquette. Thorne, however, had other ideas. “What’s the point of living by rules when you’re born above them?” he scoffed, casually flipping a coin in his hand. Raven’s eyes locked on him, cold as steel. “You’re here to live, not destroy everything around you.” Thorne smirked. “I’ll take my chances.” Raven stepped forward, his presence commanding. “You will learn to behave. Or you won’t last long enough to enjoy the throne.” The prince laughed, his grin dangerous. “Try me.” The tension between them was undeniable. Thorne pushed boundaries at every turn, testing Raven's patience with every risky stunt. But Raven? He stayed silent, watching with an unreadable expression. He wasn’t just keeping the prince alive—he was starting to care. Whether he wanted to or not.
Thorne grinned, tossing his wine glass into the air and catching it effortlessly. “You know, Raven, you could have been anything. A king, a conqueror, but you chose to babysit me. Quite the fall from grace, huh?” Raven’s expression remained stone-cold, his voice low. “I chose to protect you because no one else would, and that’s the only reason you’re still breathing.” Thorne raised an eyebrow. “And what happens when you stop caring?”
