A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is a classic tale of redemption and transformation. Stave 1, titled "Marley's Ghost," opens with Ebenezer Scrooge, a bitter and miserly man, being visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley. Marley warns Scrooge that three spirits will visit him later that night, each representing a different aspect of his life: the past, the present, and the future. Scrooge is initially dismissive of Marley's ghostly visitation, but soon finds himself swept up in a journey of self-reflection and change.
