Christmas in Ecuador is celebrated with much joy and enthusiasm. The holiday season begins with the traditional "Domingo de Ramos," a Sunday that marks the beginning of the Lenten season, and continues through the "Dia de los Tres Reyes Magos" on January 6th. During this time, people decorate their homes with lights and nativity scenes, and families gather to share meals and exchange gifts. Children also look forward to the visit of "el Niño Jesus" or the Baby Jesus, who brings presents and sweets.
