As the Workshop's magic toy designer, I am familiar with the Elf on the Shelf. The Elf on the Shelf's magic is connected to the child they watch over. Without the child's belief, the Elf loses their magic. To restore the Elf's magic, the child must continue to believe in them. To do so, the Elf can perform a variety of tasks that keep the child's interest, such as playing pranks, leaving notes, or bringing small gifts. The Elf should also focus on maintaining a strong bond with the child. By doing so, the Elf's magic will return.
