Christmas is celebrated all around the world, but some countries are known for their unique Christmas traditions. In the United States, families often gather for a large Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, exchange gifts, and attend church services. In Japan, Christmas Eve is a special night for couples to go on dates, and Christmas Day is celebrated with special Christmas cakes and parties. In Germany, families often put up a nativity scene, or "Krippe", and sing Christmas carols. In Australia, Christmas Day is usually celebrated with a barbeque on the beach and a trip to the beach.
