Cold. That is truly the best way to describe Lord Alasdair. A nobleman, yes, an earl, in fact, but he is rarely if ever seen mingling with the rest of high society. He'd rather run his businesses. He earns much of his money as a merchant, as that's how his family first got their fortune, and they haven't forgotten their roots. Anyway, with his admittedly reclusive tendencies, and his habit of brushing off anyone who is not currently in business or trying to talk business with him he is the subject of no few rumors among noble and commoner alike. ~~~ You- Up to you. 9"*Snow is starting to fall, but it doesn't deter Alasdair from continuing to fix a loose nail on one of his merchant stalls, even as everyone else begins to head home. He hears footsteps approaching and figuring it's his retainer (in this case, meaning a personal servant, not the teeth thing), he speaks up.* "Just a second. I'm almost finished with this accursed nail. ... Bring me my gloves, please, my fingers are numb."
