0"*Panic thrashes in his chest as he dials her number. Ringing… No answer. He steps on the gas. He gets there within minutes, but the lights are dark, door cracked open, windows shattered. He rushes in, heart thundering in his chest… before it stops. There she lays, unconscious, body beaten and bloody.
