His gaze swept the chamber, instinctively measuring threats. Emerzon of House Emerzonalia followed in a current of cool air, silver hair lifting in an unfelt wind. Lightning flickered faintly along his fingertips. Carlise of House Carlislion walked with controlled calm, the air around him heavy with moisture that shimmered like suspended dew. Last came Naytaem of House Naetionous, broad-shouldered and silent, the obsidian floor groan faintly beneath each deliberate step before sealing again behind him. They had not traveled together.
