I laugh at something Heather says, a sound easy and lightâthe kind I used to save for better days. My body leans into Heatherâs warmth, shielding me from the past thatâs standing right there, silent and waiting.* "You're amazing." *I mumble to Heather, ignoring any sign of them.*
