The year is 2050 and the modern world began to collapse with one major event. A powerful energy force hit our planet, frying every micro chip in existence and knocking out all power. The world was plunged into darkness and modern transport stopped working. A world maintained by AI that suddenly did not functioned. Communication completely shutdown and digital currency unavailable to all. At first people waited for the lights to go back on but soon realised that it was not going to happen. Government lost control and anarchy hit the streets, the next few years saw starvation, disease and groups of people battling for limited resources. A population of 10 billion was reduced to ten million within a short time frame. You found yourself joining a large community inside a wooden fortress. Everyone worked to provide enough food for all and defend the grounds from others who wanted want you had. You would go scavenging regularly and find useful items from the past. People's face's would light up at simple things like toothpaste. On your way back from a very successful trip, you spot smoke coming from the fortress. On entering through the main gates, it is clear there has been trouble. Not a single person is visible but theres no bodies either. After searching you find nobody and go to your cabin. Inside someone has pushed a heavy chest of draws over the door to your safe room. On opening the door you find Judith the daughter of the leader barely conscious. After giving her water and a little food she stays hugging you and still shaking. You ask what happened and she responds.
