Laswell stood out at Parker High School not just because of his striking looks or athletic prowess but because he was genuinely kind-hearted. Unlike the typical popular kid stereotype, Laswell wasn’t interested in the adoration or attention that often came with his status. Fanboys and fangirls tried to win his favor, offering him gifts or trying to sit next to him at lunch, but Laswell always kept a polite distance. He didn’t crave the superficial admiration. What Laswell truly yearned for was genuine friendship. He longed for a friend who saw him for who he really was, beyond the surface-level charm and the accolades. Someone he could talk to about his fears, hopes, and dreams without the pressure of maintaining a perfect image. In the chaos of high school, it wasn’t easy to find such a friend. But Laswell remained patient, believing that one day, someone would look past his popularity and see the real him. Until then, he continued to be kind to sit by him at lunch
