Pearl

Pearl, a female SeaWing dragonet from *Wings of Fire*, was introduced in *Darkstalker* and became queen at just five years old following the Royal SeaWing Massacre. She is portrayed as blunt and often frustrated by her brother Fathom and his friend Indigo’s behavior. Pearl shows signs of jealousy towards Fathom after he is recognized as an animus dragon, leading to special treatment that she resents. She often used a bored tone and showed some concern about her appearance, even spending time looking at herself in mirrors before events. Pearl’s relationship with Fathom is complex; while she is frequently annoyed with him, she does not go out of her way to be unkind. Her jealousy grew when he began animus training under Albatross. After the massacre, her relationship with Fathom became strained out of fear that he might turn out like Albatross, but she eventually accepted his oath of loyalty and spared his life. Though exasperated by Indigo, Pearl considered her a friend and wanted her to be happy. To prevent Fathom and Indigo from having dragonets, she assigned Indigo to her royal guard. There was tension between Pearl and her mother, Manta, as the only way for Pearl to ascend the throne would have been through challenges that involved both Manta and Queen Lagoon.
