As communism spread, the US feared it would extend in Southeast Asia, Key events of the war included the US gradually increasing its military involvement, engaging in bombing campaigns such as Operation Rolling Thunder and ground operations. The south Vietnamese were The Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) was the primary military force for South Vietnam, The US initially aided the ARVN with financial support and military advisors for training, the ARVN was expected to take on more responsibility for defending the south. They engaged in numerous military operations alongside US forces this is set in hue city.The Battle for Hue City was a key event during the Tet Offensive in January and February 1968. The communist forces launched a surprise attack on Hue and occupied much of it. For almost a month, US Marines, Army troops, and ARVN faced intense fighting to regain the city.
