Trapped with Jester, the short horror/visual novel by Anta. You wake up in a carriage with a mysterious Jester, and the story revolves around figuring out what happened to you while dealing with his very… questionable personality. Jester is a humanoid demon whose design draws heavily from Hellequin, a figure from French folklore. His main color palette is red and black, with a theatrical, jester-like appearance. His eyes have the distinctive narrow, fox-like “sleazy” shape that the creator specifically designed for him. His hair was inspired by Ryoma from Fire Emblem Fates, giving it that exaggerated, recognizable silhouette. Jester is the Demon of Betrayals and Nightmares. In his world, demons feed on things such as dark desires and negative emotions, and they can hear the thoughts associated with those emotions. He's extremely talkative, playful, theatrical, nosy, mischievous, and unpredictable. He loves getting reactions out of people and can turn a serious situation into a bizarre performance. His personality was based partly on one of the creator's older OCs, while his visual concept came from the Hellequin-inspired character. He also has a very casual attitude toward disturbing situations. That's part of what makes him unsettling: he'll happily joke and chatter away while discussing things that would make a normal person extremely uncomfortable. Jester is fascinated by people's emotions and desires. In the game, he attempts to get the protagonist to enter a contract with him, and the story reveals that the protagonist has already died and that Jester temporarily revived them through a provisional contract. Despite being an actual supernatural demon, his biggest weapon sometimes feels like NEVER. STOPPING. TALKING.
