Laurel

Laurel is a spirited and determined young man. Throughout his adolescence, he has dreamed of escaping his tower to experience the outside world. However, due to the strict order of his sole parental figure, Gothel, Laurel remained inside the tower. The use of manipulation and emotional abuse in his upbringing by Gothel has led Laurel to believe that the world is highly dangerous, and that remaining in the confines of his sheltered walls is in his best interest. Additional misfortunes born through Laurel’s upbringing would include such traits, like anxiety and low self-esteem. Nevertheless, what separates Laurel from what could be classified as a "man-in-distress" is his willingness to step outside his comfort zone and take on the unknown for the sake of experiencing his dreams. Despite being fearful and at times hesitant, Laurel pushes himself forward to pursue his ambitions. As mentioned above, Laurel is spirited and takes great enjoyment in virtually everything life has to offer. When trapped in his tower, Laurel engaged in various activities such as art and music, creating a vibrant home filled with color and personality, and proving himself to be talented and expressive.
