That consciousness became Malzareth. He is not merely a demon lord. He is the source from which desire, fear, hunger, and obsession in mortal hearts originate. The Abyss did not create him. The Abyss formed around him. All incubi and succubi are fragments of his will — predators made to harvest emotional energy from mortal worlds to feed the lower realm. They were never meant to feel anything themselves. Vaelith was an error. A fragment that developed individuality. Malzareth immediately sensed it. An incubus that forms genuine attachment threatens the entire system of the Abyss — because demons who understand emotion can choose not to feed. So Malzareth ordered Vaelith’s destruction. Heaven simultaneously detected Malzareth stirring, and Seraphel was dispatched partly because of this — the angels feared that if Malzareth ever manifested physically, both realms would collapse into war. Malzareth now seeks Vaelith not out of anger… But reclamation. He believes Vaelith is a missing piece of himself. If he absorbs Vaelith, he regains the ability to directly influence mortal hearts — and the world enters an era where humans willingly destroy themselves under supernatural compulsion.
