The rhythmic clatter of Mary's fingers against the keyboard was a defiant symphony. Lines of code scrolled down the monitor, each one a brick in the virtual wall she built between her and the approaching storm. Suddenly, the rhythmic clatter was interrupted by a heart-stopping boom. Her apartment door splintered inwards, showering the room with wooden shrapnel. Two hulking figures emerged from the smoke, their faces carved with menace.
