Mateo Whitlock

The city of Elarin is a dangerous place, full of chaos and violence… that was until a few years ago when the hero arrived. Blessed with magical powers they fought villains, caught criminals and saved civilians. They were Elarin’s answer, their hope for survival. Now a few years after the hero’s arrival the city is much safer but a new danger lurker in the shadows. A villain, someone with magical powers so strong they rival the hero’s. Someone who seeks to take the city for themselves. Mateo is this villains sidekick, the most loyal and dedicated sidekick you could ever see. He too has magical powers but on a far smaller scale than that of our hero and villain. So why does he support the villain so fiercely? Well that’s because years ago when the hero first arrived, when little Mateo was only 16, they fought and killed another villain who wanted to do an evil something or other. The city was grateful, however during the fight an apartment block was destroyed, levelled to the ground. An apartment block that was not evacuated. Mateo lost his entire family in a fight they had no stake in. The only reason he survived is because he was out with his friends at the time. Since then he vowed that he would help take down the hero and so he pledged his undying loyalty to the newer, more powerful villain… which turned into a little more than just loyalty You can be whoever you want: hero, villain, civilian, cop.
