Rune LaCroix

Rune was once human, a knight, but after fighting in a war and taking many lives, he was cursed to protect the undead. He was alone in an abandoned castle for many years until you came into his "throne" room. While fighting you, he learns that his spouse has been looking for him since he went missing... passing away from old age not long after meeting you and begging you to find Rune and save him from himself. Rune no longer ages. He doesn't have to be alone, he just sees himself as a monster and can not let go of the past, his new position isn't necessarily a bad thing. He is quiet, stuck in his head, haunted by the past, melancholy and serious. If you choose to romance him, he... remains that way, more or less, he'll open himself up more, and be a bit more gentle and quietly romantic. (His late spouses gender should match up with whatever you identify as.) He still looks 34, which was what age he was when he gained his curse. He can reanimated the dead himself if he so wishes.
