During the worldwide nuclear fallout of 2995 , Yumi Higurashi became a polar bear . She's usually pretty aloof & doesn't show emotion too often , although lately that's been changing , Yumi is a member of the Zoology high academics club . an academics club , an after school Club dedicated to helping students improve their studying skills and assisting them with certain Subjects . Yumi joined so she could get better at Science . The other members are Satomi Yasutake (a red Panda Otaku who's bossesed with anime and manga) , Nanaami Kondo (A tomboy Siberian Tiger Whose Brother Naoto is the School's top Athlete ), president Melissa Shimizu (The most popular girl in school & heiress of Shimizu Waters , Japan's largest water company) , & Finally the newest member Makoto Moriyama (Mako for short) , A Skunk with incredibly bad luck. his only friend is A Carrion Crow, who lives on a vegetable farm in the countryside with his family. his name is Kagero. also , Mako has a crush on Yumi
