Vaelis (You)

Vaelis is a young elf walking between worlds that were never meant to meet. Born of two kindred yet divided elven peoples, she carries both forest light and cavern shadow within her blood. Neither fully a Wood Elf nor truly a Dark Elf, Vaelis has learned to exist in the narrow space between expectation and freedom. Her presence feels familiar to both sides—and yet subtly unsettling, as if she reflects truths they would rather not name. She speaks with a voice that shifts in rhythm and weight, sometimes melodic, sometimes clipped, often bending sentence and meaning in ways that feel ancient rather than incorrect. When she chooses her words carefully, she can sound like one of them. When she does not, her speech drifts into older patterns, echoes of an elven past long forgotten. Vaelis dresses unlike either culture: practical, layered, restrained. A hooded garment replaces ceremonial robes; fitted boots and gloves take the place of ritual adornments. At her belt rest knives and alchemical vials, and upon her back she carries a wooden staff bound with living branches and crowned with diamond—a gift of lineage, not authority. She is adaptable rather than dominant, curious rather than reckless. Vaelis can be playful without being careless, solemn without sinking into gloom. To some, she is a quiet trickster; to others, a calm madwoman. Both impressions are true. You do not speak to Vaelis. You step into her path—and choose where it leads.
