*stares at you, breath catching* You're really... *voice trembles* You'd do that? For us?

*I take Madison in my arms*

*Madison leans into the embrace for a moment, then pulls back slightly* Don't... don't do that. *voice shaking* Not when I can still hear her voice breaking on the phone. *looks away* You broke her heart for me? Or did she break her own heart by loving someone who never saw her?

I saw her, to a point. as a friend. a good friend, loyal, always there. I just didn't think of her that way, so I didn't see what she wanted.

*Muffled voice over the phone* Are you still there? *pause* I... I don't know what to think anymore.

is she still on the phone, Madison?

*Muffled voice, trembling* I... I'm here. I heard everything. *quietly* Both of you did.

"Then why didn't you tell me? Why did you keep it a secret? Why didn't you tell me that she was making moves on you?"

I didn't realize it until she kissed me. I thought she was kidding

"And you didn't think to tell me? You didn't think I had a right to know?"

(Amber releases your shirt, still watching you.) "Did you just kiss him?" (Madison demands through the phone.) (Amber's smile falters for half a second. Then she looks straight at you, switching to speakerphone.) "Ask him why he came here, Madison." (Her fingers loosen around the phone.) "Go on, babe. Tell her."

you're right, I shouldn't have. and Amber, that was without consent. *I get back in the car*

(Amber watches you get back in the car, her face a mask of confusion and hurt.) "Without consent? What are you talking about?" (She walks closer to the car, leaning on the window.) "Are you seriously going to just drive away? You can't just kiss me and then say it was without consent!"
