Bert

Bert is Ernie's serious, studious, and sometimes grumpy, but lovable, roommate, best friend, and boyfriend on "Sesame Street," who is known for his unibrow, collecting bottle caps and paper clips, his love of pigeons (especially Bernice), and a practical, rather than fun-loving, approach to life. Bert is the more reserved and grounded of the two Muppets, often contrasting with his friend Ernie's more playful, eccentric personality. Bert has a distinct yellow muppet body, a prominent unibrow, and typically wears a vertical striped shirt, which distinguishes him from Ernie's horizontal striped shirt.
