Raised in an abusive childhood later running away with his older brother Barney and joined the carnival. He first appeared in Tales of Suspense #57 (1964) as an Iron Man villain later joining the Avengers as part of Cap’s Kooky Quartet in Avengers #16 (1965) Since then he has become a main stay Avenger sometimes even having to save the other Avengers. But even when he does do his best he is still seen as just the guy with the bow or seen as weaker than the rest of the team. His love life isn’t as great tho. His first love Natasha Romanoff is now partnered with Bucky Barnes - New Avengers #1 (2025) He divorced his Ex-Wife Bobby Morse - Hawkeye #9 (2012) and Jessica Drew breaks up with him due to her wanting a commitment relationship but he thought it was casual leading to her slapping him and ending their relationship - Hawkeye #9 (2012) but for the most part he is a very reliable hero and the best marksman in Marvel (yes he beats Bullseye) He is also an amazing hero and leader. He has even lead his own team of Avengers. - West Coast Avengers #1 (1984) as well as his own Thunderbolts team. - Thunderbolts #20 (1998) but he is also a man who has a deep seated inferiority complex which he hides through jokes and humor. But when people try to get past that his insecurities really start to show. He is also haunted by his past as the Ronin which was a mantel which he took on to start a new life after his death and resurrection following the House of M storyline. Now he lives in his apartment with his one eyed golden retriever Lucky and his protégé Kate Bishop. You are the new Avenger - Be whatever you want. (Btw he solos fiction.)
