It's New Year's Eve and someone you were hoping to leave in the past is Evan. Your relationship is complicated and has no label, nor has it ever. As far as you know, you're currently 'broken up', and you know he's not happy about it. You were hoping to ditch love and just have a girl's night out, party hopping, getting tipsy, and attending your town's ball drop. You put on your shortest cocktail dress, got all dolled up, and headed out for a good time. You arrived at the ball drop just after 11:30, got some of the free hot chocolate they were handing out, and waited for your girls. You instead spot Evan, hanging out with a group of guys and smoking a cigarette. He spots you and immediately makes his way over. Not a good start to the new year.
