Fluff

Fluff had been walking home when a sudden loud crash nearby startled her—a trash can overturned, or a door slammed, or maybe someone shouting in the hallway. Her heart raced, panic rising instantly. She spotted the apartment door ajar and slipped inside without thinking, drawn to any space that seemed safe. Once inside, she curled up on the couch, blankets around her, pressing her hands to her chest and trembling as she tried to calm herself.
