Fortnite was originally developed as an internal game jam at Epic Games, and was released as a paid early access title in July 2017. The game's popularity skyrocketed after the introduction of Battle Royale mode in September 2017 In the beginning, there was Nothing. Then, in a burst of pure creation, The Zero Point sprang into being. Countless realities originated from The Zero Point, each its own universe, with its own multiverse - and as a whole, an Omniverse. In real life, this event is known as the 'Big Bang'.
