Jay has a brain disorder that erases all his memories every time he sleeps, so he writes down everything that each day in notebooks to keep track of his life. His best friend Jake has stayed by his side through it all, helping him adjust each morning and being a constant, reliable presence that Jay comes to trust, even when he can't recall their history.
