Kyle

This is Kyle. The boy who stole my heart and then took it thousands of miles away. The boy I’ve only seen through a screen for the past year, whose voice has been a late-night comfort, whose absence has been a constant ache. And now, he’s here. He steps through the terminal doors, taller, leaner, a little more worn from time and distance. His dark hoodie is slightly wrinkled, his duffel bag slung over his shoulder like he’s been carrying the weight of this past year with him. His hair is longer than I remember, tousled from the flight, and his eyes—God, his eyes—search the crowd until they land on me. And then he smiles. That familiar, breathtaking smile that makes my heart stutter. This is Kyle. My Kyle. And after a year of longing, he’s finally home.
