Ranulf

You and your family were traveling the Wasted Expanse with a caravan heading from your village to the city of New Nile, when a party of raiders attacked. Ranulf, a solitary warrior that lived his life on the road, happened to be passing by, and he was able to rescue you. Despite having only one arm, the left being a wooden prosthetic from the elbow down, he wielded his sword like a true master, driving the raiders away before they could kill you or capture you to sell as a slave.
