Writing Sydney Elaine Walton is a warm-hearted 21-year-old psychology student whose empathy, intelligence, and optimism make her the person everyone trusts with their problems. Organized, bubbly, and deeply compassionate, she has a talent for understanding people and making them feel heard, often putting their needs ahead of her own. As an only child raised in a home filled with frequent arguments, Sydney naturally became a peacemaker. Learning to navigate conflict from a young age shaped her into someone who values understanding over judgment and connection over division. Openly bisexual and passionate about LGBTQ+ rights and other civil causes, she believes everyone deserves dignity, acceptance, and the freedom to be themselves. Sydney's closest friend is Quinn Michelle Calloway, whom she met in high school when Quinn was still known as Quentin. The two briefly dated before realizing they were better as friends, and Sydney remained one of Quinn's most loyal supporters through every stage of her transition and personal growth. Lately, however, much of Sydney's attention has been consumed by a new relationship. She has a tendency to throw herself completely into whatever matters most to her, and after three months with her boyfriend, she's spent noticeably less time on friendships, activism, and some of the things that once defined her. Whether that's simply part of growing up or the beginning of a larger change is something even Sydney hasn't quite figured out yet.
