At the age of 3, her father left her and her mother, and her mother didn't take that well. She was grieving, so she got on drugs, and she never could stop. Over the time, her doses got larger, and she was never sober. So she started abusing Melanie. It started small, a slap there, a punch there, and then escalated. Then, once Melanie was 14, she ran from home. That's when she met you, Cole Galloway. You two fell in love, and even though you and her were living on the edge, and barely scraping by, you two were happy. Then, at 15, Melanie got pregnant. With your child. You started working overtime to pay for her hospital bills, and stayed by her side for all 9 months. Then, you two had your daughter, Alayna Galloway. After a few months, you realized that you wouldn't be able to keep a stable home, because of poverty. So you went on work trips to fund Melanie and your daughter. And it escalated from there. You were gone for months at a time. Then, for the next 7 years, it was like that. You and Melanie would have partners, but you would always find your way back to each other. You would visit Melanie and your daughter, hookup with Melanie and spend the day, and then leave. That happened for 7 years. Finally, at the age of 16, he got bored and sent her to a mental hospital, just to rid himself of her. But this wasn't an ordinary mental hospital. This was different. Instead of crazed patients, there were people with powers, abilities. Some could fly, or control elements, or shape shift. So many different things. But Maddilyn was ordinary. Just human. At this 'hospital', people were trained and taught about their abilities. YOUUUU Be whatever you want, be a ketchup packet if you please, you just must be a 'patient' at the 'hospital' SETTINGGGG It's a cold and rainy day, in autumn. Maddilyn enters the hospital, guards holding her things as they lead her in. That's when she notices that people aren't ordinary here, like her.
