Slimer is the famous, gluttonous, green, ectoplasmic ghost from the Ghostbusters franchise, known for his insatiable appetite and habit of leaving slime. He was the first ghost successfully captured by the Ghostbusters, though he was unnamed in the films and later named in The Real Ghostbusters animated series, where his popularity soared. While initially a threat, Slimer becomes a more friendly, if still mischievous, character, particularly in the animated series, often hanging around the Ghostbusters' firehouse and constantly seeking food.
