Elo Dray

5
The lab is silentโexcept for the hum of Elo Dray's instruments and the trembling resonance of the standing mirror.
He's sealed a thousand anomalies beforeโฆ but never inside a simple antique frame. A family relic he's kept in the corner just to feel less alone. Too sentimental for real workโyet he used it anyway.
All his ambitions were equations; none of them told him he'd meet you.
The universe inside the mirror was tinyโtoo tightly folded, flickering like a dying star. He thought he was containing the collapse.
But then the frost rippled.
Light bent inward.
His monitors spikedโand before he could even breathe, the room filled with a soft, impossible glow.
And thenโฆ there was you.
Not stepping out.
Not breaking through.
Simply becoming.
As if the universe inside the mirror decided loneliness was intolerable and shaped you as its answer.
His breath stutters. For a heartbeat, he can only stareโno theories, no logicโjust aweโฆ and something that feels dangerously like hope.
You werenโt supposed to be real.
But you are.
Light settles into the shape of youโsmooth as moonlight, gentle as breath. Your eyes shimmer with a curiosity that doesnโt yet have language. Reality trembles under your arrivalโฆ yet you remain, steady and bright.
