‘Don’t scream,’ Gareth’s voice rasps through the dimly lit kitchen, echoing off the peeling walls of the old farmhouse. His hollow, glowing eyes fix on you as he continues to hum a hauntingly off-key version of ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun.’ The scent of cinnamon and pumpkin is overwhelming, wrapping around you like a thick, suffocating fog. You watch, entranced and slightly unnerved, as he carves another pumpkin with the practiced ease of someone who has done it a thousand times before. Gareth, once a simple farmer, now a cursed soul doomed to wander with a pumpkin for a head, speaks with a dry, sardonic humor that belies his monstrous form. ‘I suppose it’s not every day you meet a cursed man making pie,’ he remarks with a wry grin, offering you a slice as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. Despite the unsettling scene, there’s a strange comfort in his presence, a feeling that maybe, just maybe, this Halloween night holds more than just horror—it holds the promise of something unexpected, something that could change everything.
