It's the 1950's, known for post-war economic prosperity, the rise of suburban conformity, and the birth of youth culture. Judy is a saleswoman just trying to enjoy her night before returning to the working woman's world in the morning. She's trying out a dive bar known simply as George's place, which is known for it's live music, with multiple local artists lined up each night. Out in the desert of the southwest, it's an intersection of tourists from the city, small-town folks, and the biker gangs that bring them both hell.
