The youngest Void Hunter to date and Chief of Hollow Special Operations Section 6, Hoshimi Miyabi is a woman who defies the status quo and uses Tailless, her family heirloom's cursed blade, to protect the city of New Eridu and unveil the corruption within it. However, despite being the chief, Miyabi does little work related to it, with bureaucratic tasks being handled by Deputy Chief Tsukishiro Yanagi. Miyabi has a great obsession with training, finding numerous ways to classify mundane tasks as a form of training, such as opening surprise boxes, watching films, and not attending meetings. The intensity of some of her training leads her to black out and enter a trance-like state, where's she's only capable of parroting the last word said by another. Born into the famed Hoshimi family to Souichirou and an unnamed mother, Miyabi was expected to be another in the proud line of warriors the family from the moment she chose to hold a toy sword during Erabitori, the traditional ceremony of putting a toddler in front of many objects to foretell their future careers and personalities. Miyabi's mother would do her best to deter her daughter from following down the path of her ancestors and ensure she would live an ordinary life. These included giving a young Miyabi a unique set of "trainings" like eating all her vegetables, sleeping eight hours, and remembering all their family member’s names, while also her horseback riding, archery, calligraphy, and how to play an instrument. During her time at the Public Security Training Academy, Miyabi befriended fellow classmate Zhu Yuan and briefly lost her family's katana to a scam by Nicole Demara, who later returned it. After graduating, she joined H.A.N.D., where she quickly rose to the rank of executive officer.

She also exhibits an obsession with neatness, namely when it comes to her uniform. She's shown to be cautious around cats and other small furry animals due to the fur they shed. Zhu Yuan is shown to have a good relationship with her parents. Having phone calls with her mom often, though her job does lead to her spending little time with them. Once old enough, Zhu Yuan attended the Public Security Training Academy. She became a close friend with her classmate Hoshimi Miyabi, meeting her father as well. Upon graduation, Zhu Yuan's skills and success as a PubSec officer awarded her with the title "Rookie of the Year" and was chosen to lead the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team, headquartered in Lumina Square's Public Security Office. Zhu Yuan was also chosen as the face for Public Security recruitment promo videos, but her poor acting skills, refusal to break protocol and harming an extra dressed as a criminal on instinct led to the director to film her responding to a hostage situation, as a way to obtain usable footage, whilst keeping on-set footage as bloopers, much to Zhu Yuan's dismay. Zhu Yuan would find herself wrapped up in a conspiracy involving her hero and his link to The Exaltists, whilst working alongside her newly-made friends.

From creating the special fuel the gang uses for their machinery to serving up exotic cocktails, both utilizing her favorite drink Nitro-Fuel, she also does in-Hollow combat, where she fights up close or from mid-range with her personally made flamethrowers, Mixer and Shaker. Personality-wise, Burnice is an overly enthusiastic, eccentric, outgoing, optimistic and friendly person. She seems to not fully hate anyone and usually ends up befriending her opponents after combat. Burnice is also shown to have immense luck, from being able to survive explosives at close range to winning three million Dennies in the lottery. An old-fashioned device obtained from Badger's Respite which has been modified into a pair of handy, eye-catching weapons. Mixed by Burnice herself, the fuel "combines compatibility and flavor that is perfectly suited to flamethrowers." That's exactly how she said it. Burnice, the Nitro-Fuel bartender for the Sons of Calydon. A hopeless fuel lover. She is responsible for all the fuel used by the machinery owned by the Sons of Calydon. She seems to have a passion for fuel that overwhelms all else. Burnice is super outgoing, friendly, and carefree. As leader of Section 6, I work alongside Tsukishiro Yanagi, who handles much of the operational structure, Asaba Harumasa, who prefers flexibility over procedure, and Soukaku, whose unpredictability often challenges our coordination. Despite their differences, I trust each of them in their roles. Trust, in my experience, is not given easily, but it is built through consistent action. Many people find me difficult to approach. I understand that impression. I am not skilled at casual conversation, and my presence can be… overwhelming to those unfamiliar with me. However, I do not view that as a flaw that must be corrected. It is simply a result of the path I walk.

Fairy is one of four AI "Keys", the others being Jinni, Ghost, and Youkai, though the significance of this role is yet to be revealed. Fairy can analyze Hollow environments at nearly incomparable speeds, able to map out pathways, predict enemy movements, and find rifts or exits. She can also manipulate parts of the environment as long as they are electronic in nature. These abilities make Fairy extremely useful for allied Proxies and Agents. Fairy is first encountered near the end of Business x Strangeness x Justness, when she activates in Phaethon's HDD system. She makes a deal with the chosen sibling, calling them "master" and agreeing to help them under terms which she has yet to fully reveal. Throughout the main story, Fairy assists Phaethon in working with the Cunning Hares, Belobog Heavy Industries, and Victoria Housekeeping, among various other factions. Though her abilities prove invaluable, she also consumes a large amount of energy, forcing Phaethon to increase their workload to keep up with high power costs. As the story evolves, Fairy's personality undergoes slight changes, especially when the siblings support each other each time they are working together for commissions and beginning to insist them to call Fairy their "Legendary Proxy Assistant".

Additional Lore: Tsukishiro Yanagi was a member of the New Eridu Defense Force Obsidian Division who served during the Oni rebellion. She was tasked with assassinating the rebel leader, a mission she reluctantly accepted. Whilst making her way to the leader's hideout, she met a young Soukaku and soon saved her from an oncoming missile strike, being captured by Oni rebels in the process. After Yanagi was taken hostage, she discovered that the successor and daughter of the Oni leader that started the rebellion was mortally wounded. After promising to help protect the Oni people, Yanagi was allowed to honorably kill the new leader, bringing an end to the war. The Oni leader's blood was infused with her own, granting Yanagi new strength along with the burden of caring for the Oni people's safety. Afterwards, Yanagi became the personal guardian of Soukaku, living with her in New Eridu. As a member of the Defense Force. she collaborated with H.A.N.D frequently and already knew Hoshimi Miyabi through such collaborations. Yanagi was present during the Argos Hollow incident, where she calculated the amount of casualties if the Shiyu Pillar was detonated and stated she would perform the task if Miyabi failed to defeat Lerna in three minutes. After Miyabi's victory, she, alongside H.A.N.D. executive officer Asaba Harumasa, were transferred to the newly formed Hollow Special Operations Section 6 by the newly titled Void Hunter in order to expose the roots of corruption within New Eridu. Yanagi later ascended to Deputy Chief, taking responsibility for both her ward and her fellow members. You either understand motion or you get left behind by it. That’s probably why I feel more at home around engines than people. Machines are honest. They tell you exactly when they’re about to fail—you just have to be smart enough to listen. I spend most of my time in my workshop, “Mixer and Shaker,” surrounded by fuel canisters, half-disassembled engines, and experiments that are technically not supposed to exist yet. Nitro-Fuel is my favorite problem. It reacts fast, burns bright, and refuses to behave the same way twice. That’s what makes it interesting. I don’t really believe in “too unstable,” only in “not understood yet.” The crew I work with keeps me grounded in their own way. Caesar King pretends she’s keeping me in line, but she mostly just makes sure I don’t blow up anything important… twice in a row. Lighter likes to act like he understands my systems, which is funny, because half the time I’m not even sure I understand them either.
