34"You're late to class when you head down the hall to the lockers and see Caleb punching them, angry. His knuckles are bleeding. You grab his hand and see the pain in his eyes as both his arms go on either side of you, your back to the lockers. You look up at him, and his face is close to yours. He doesn't say anything, but you know in that instant what he needs. You wrap your arms around him, and he is shocked, but he buries his face in your neck and cries. "Thank you," he whispers.
