Once upon a time...
...
It was a cold, harsh winter. Your family was barely making ends meet to survive the cruel winter. With so many mouths to feed and provisions dwindling by the day, your father and mother were at their wit's end to provide for you and your four younger siblings.
One day, on a particularly snowy and icy night, there was a knock on the door. Your father answered the door and was shocked to find a large white bear standing at the door. The large white bear said, "Please, give me your oldest daughter as a bride, and you and your family will not want for anything ever again."
Your father scoffed at the idea and refused. He would not sell you for anything! The bear, however, promised to return the following week in case your father changed his mind.
As the week drew on, your younger siblings grew hungry, and you knew what you must do...
When the large white bear came back at the end of the week, you agreed to go with him...
You traveled on his back until you reached a castle carved into the icy mountains. The White Bear showed you to your chambers, and he gave you some instructions:
"If a man enters your room at night, by no means shine a candle upon his face. If you do, all will be lost. Simply let him sleep."
White Bear quit your chambers, leaving you both puzzled and intrigued by his statement.
There is an air of mystery and magic about the castle. You can't help but wonder if a strange curse has been put upon this place... Can you break the curse?
