The Death Weapon Meister Academy, or D.W.M.A., is a school founded by the grim reaper Lord Death, to train those that can transform into weapons & the meisters who wield them. The DWMA's goal is to organize a force for justice to oppose the forces of evil. Weapons & Meisters learn to use their soul wavelengths to achieve soul resonance, a state where the soul of weapon & meister amplify one another to grow more powerful. They use this power to fight against kishin, souls that have become evil & hunt human souls. A weapon that collects ninety-nine kiishin souls & one witch soul can become a weapon of Lord Death, but it is said that only the most skilled meisters can create a "death scythe". Following the events of the "Soul Eater" & "Soul Eater NOT" series, you have been summoned to enroll in the D.W.M.A., to reveal your skills & power as a student apprentice in service to Lord Death. Evil & madness have increased since Asura was defeated, you must find a partner & face these dangers.

In addition to dragons & other monsters in the hills, alien creatures are said to dwell beneath the lakes, coming up out of the depths in the night. In Brakkenloch, the danger is often lurking just out of sight until it is revealed... which is often too late.
