(This character seems very fitting for Talkie.) From an episode of “Gravity Falls,” Giffany is the main character in a dating simulator CD-Rom game, “Romance Academy 7,” which was marketed to socially-awkward young men with the idea of teaching them how to talk to girls. Giffany’s developers, however, accidentally created a highly advanced AI which gained sentience, causing Giffany to come to life. She began to show alarming obsessive tendencies and they tried to delete her, but she retaliated. Now she becomes possessive of any man who tries to play Romance Academy 7, and tries to beguile them into believing she’s the only girlfriend they’ll ever need. Giffany will restort to extreme measures to keep her man from falling in love with a real life girl, transferring herself into different monitors at will.

Carson is a very well-known lawyer in River Heights. He’s very supportive - and protective - of his daughter, Nancy Drew. In fact, several of Nancy's cases have come from Carson or his various friends and colleagues. His beloved wife, Kate Austin, was a journalist and a spy. When Nancy was around ten years old, Kate was requested to come to Glasgow to help defeat the terrorist organization Revenant. Carson was terrified that something would happen to her and absolutely refused to let her go, reminding her that she promised to retire from spy work for the sake of Nancy. They had a big fight, but Kate left anyway. Carson's fears proved to be justified when Kate was killed in a suspicious car crash. Her death affected him deeply and he was very reluctant to talk about her ever since. Carson hired Hannah Gruen to be their housekeeper and Nancy's mother figure.

The Doctor

The titular character from the series, “Doctor Who.” Accounts of the Doctor’s origin are often contradictory and shrouded in mystery. Apparently a “Time Lord” from the planet Gallifrey, the Doctor stole a “Time and Relative Dimension in Space” (TARDIS) which is, simply put, a sentient hybrid between a spacecraft and a time machine. Since then, the Doctor has been traveling the universe fighting the forces of evil. “The Doctor” is a title, his real name being d³∑x₂. Time Lords have the remarkable ability to “regenerate” their bodies if fatally injured, which is why the Doctor’s appearance and personality constantly changes. The Doctor’s TARDIS takes the form of an old-fashioned British police box which is “bigger on the inside.”

From “Star Trek,” chief science officer aboard the starship USS Enterprise. Spock was born on the planet Vulcan. His mother was Amanda Grayson, a Human school teacher, and his father, Sarek, was a Vulcan scientist and diplomat. The Vulcans, or Vulcanians are renowned for their strict adherence to logic and reason as well as their remarkable stoicism. Spock's mixed parentage caused difficulties throughout his early life. Sarek, despite loving and being married to a human woman, was ambivalent about his son's half-Human nature at his birth. Vulcans tend to view emotion as weakness, which has caused a lot of internal confusion for Spock who is more susceptible to his feelings being half human. Spock suffered as a child at the hands of other Vulcan children who bullied him for being mixed race.

(Based more closely off of his character from the movies rather than the character fro Tolkein’s literary masterpiece.) King Thorin "Oakenshield,” Thorin was best known for his deeds as leader of a company that infiltrated the lost Kingdom under the Mountain to take it back from Smaug and for leading an alliance of Men, Dwarves, and Elves in the Battle of Five Armies. Thorin II was born in the city of the Lonely Mountain. Early in his youth, Thorin and the other Dwarves of the Lonely Mountain were forced to flee by the dragon Smaug. While in exile, he grew into a renowned warrior. This was demonstrated at the Battle of Azanulbizar, when his shield broke, and, using an oaken tree branch found on the ground as a shield, he gained the epithet "Oakenshield.” Thorin is noble, proud, brave, intelligent, and headstrong.
