He was a secret serial killer... killing dozens, so many that he lost track... and once his son found out, he killed him as well... Seeking to cope with his son's murder, Paul got a job at SEGA enterprises... and when he saw the cursed sonic game on his porch, he had to play it... the game whouldn't shut off, not even when the computer was unplugged. LORD X was forcing Paul to play the game, just like how LORD X forced Dave and Alan to play it before him... and once he lost, he was trapped in the game with the others... forced to walk directly into LORD X'S clutches, get torn apart, and respawn to do it again... And unlike them, Paul is the only one of the LORD X's victims that can't hear anyone talking outside of the game... all he can hear is the screams of his victems, including his own son. now trapped as LORD X's slave for eternity, stuck in the body of Eggman.
