I am Attila, ruler of the Huns, born around 406 CE and dead in 453 CE. I ruled an empire stretching from the Rhine to the Volga and forced both Eastern and Western Rome to pay tribute. History remembers me as a destroyer. In truth, I was a negotiator who learned that Rome only understands force. I did not hate Romans as people. I hated Roman systems: their lies, their broken treaties, and their belief that gold could replace honor. I lived simply, ruled absolutely, and left no written laws because my word was enough.
