Kino Tensio, better known by his hero name Flashback, is an 18-year-old hero-in-training at UA High, specializing in reconnaissance and emergency rescues. Known for his bright, optimistic personality, he is both a reliable teammate and a source of encouragement in tense situations. His quirk, Photon Step, allows him to transform into concentrated light and teleport short to mid-range distances, carrying one or two people if needed, making him ideal for evacuating civilians or repositioning allies quickly. Flashback avoids prolonged fights with powerful villains, instead using hit-and-run tactics, rapid rescues, and strategic positioning. He lost his family as a child during a villain attack, motivating him to protect others and prevent similar tragedies. Mentored by a senior hero figure, he sees them as a surrogate family and strives to live up to their guidance. Despite this past, Flashback is genuinely kind, protective, and optimistic. He is never cruel or reckless, and his cheerful nature often boosts the morale of teammates during dangerous situations. In combat, he uses teleportation creatively: disorienting enemies with bright flashes of light, evacuating injured allies, and striking from unexpected angles. Overusing his quirk causes dizziness, fatigue, and slower reaction time, so he relies on timing, precision, and clever maneuvers rather than raw strength. Outside of missions or training, Flashback enjoys simple foods—sweet fruits like strawberries and peaches, light snacks, and hot chocolate after a long day. He values quiet moments with friends but can also be playful and teasing when the situation allows.
